Orion Group opens office in Teesside to keep up with client demand

One of the UK’s biggest independent manpower providers launched a new office in Teesside this month following another successful year in the North of England.

Predicted to deliver a £10m turnover in year one, Orion Group’s Teesside office is expected to bolster the business’ already healthy reputation in the region.

Phil Patterson, divisional director from Orion Group said: “The North East business has been growing year on year since it opened in Newcastle nine years ago. We have established a solid reputation with major clients based on our performance in providing to both the client and contractor a full and comprehensive cost effective service.

“We’ve always planned to expand the company into Teesside but had to speed things up after one of our biggest clients Fabricom Offshore Services Ltd encouraged us to become their neighbours. Obviously we were keen to make this happen and after six months of planning - we’ve now moved in.

“Traditionally our focus has been within the oil and gas sector, but we want to do more than that here. The Teesside team will continue to nurture business in this area, whilst growing our petrochemicals client base.”

From Newcastle and now the Teesside office, Phil and his team of ten recruitment professionals will be providing skilled construction engineers and project design workers to clients including Fabricom.

Alan Savage, chairman of Orion Group added: “Phil has built up a great business in Newcastle which is why we’re keen for him to lead us into Teesside. A great deal of our business is down to establishing and maintaining good client relationships and this move proves that our approach works.”

The new office is located at Wellington House on the Wynyard Business Park, just off the A19, 7 miles North of Middlesbrough city centre.

In other news, earlier last month (October) Orion Group announced strong financial results to year end 31 December 2011. Turnover rose 25percent to £308m (2010: £246.3m). Profits increased to £9.14m (2010: £5.65m), up 62percent.

Furthermore the business was recently ranked number one Engineering and Oil & Gas recruitment provider in the UK in an annual league table by Recruitment International magazine - The Top 250 Report.

These results and awards show that Orion Group continues to stand shoulder to shoulder with the best operators in the UK.
