SURF Engineering Coordinator

Accountabilities

  • Ensure that the assigned projects tasks are well managed as per the statement of requirement, The clients specifications and contractual requirements,
  • Ensure that all the interfaces with the design team, other entities including Corporate Planning & Development (CPD) & Engineering & Construction (EC) are correctly managed,
  • Ensure that the projects are executed in accordance with the organisation's safety regulations, with quality conformance and within schedule and budget,
  • Coordinate the engineering activities of Subsea Umbilical Riser Flow line (SURF) engineering group in agreement with Engineering Manager and SURF Package Lead all along the FEED and EPCI contract execution phase, interface with other engineering disciplines of ESO project (FSO package).

Job Dimensions:

Al Shaheen field development will involve several new projects that would be executed in parallel over the period of 5 years with CAPEX investment of around 3.5 Billion USD. The Major Projects (MP) consist of:

  • New wellhead platforms (WHP) installation: 7 new WHPs, each including bridges and tie-ins to existing platforms
  • Pipelines global network: Existing pipeline(s) replacement for integrity and de-bottlenecking
  • Produced water treatment project: Integrate a new module to increase produced water treatment facility
  • WAG extension 1 : Install new pipelines to build gas network for extension of the WAG on H, E and C locations
  • Export Scheme Optimisation (ESO): Potentially two converted moored FSO replacing the existing storage facilities (FSO package) with the associated modifications subsea (SURF package)
  • New K complex: 5 new platforms (2 process platforms (inlet separation and treatment), 1 compression platform, 1 living quarters and 1 flare platform)
  • The job holder will be dedicated to the engineering execution of the SURF package of ESO Project,
  • The job holder belongs to the MP engineering team and reports to the MP Engineering Manager and to the ESO Project SURF package Lead.
  • The SURF engineering team (to be mobilised) will report to the job holder.

Activities:

  • Promote & comply with applicable safety instruction and other Company HSE procedures in all activities,
  • Carry out work in compliance with Company values and policies, relevant laws and regulations, agreed Company priorities and objectives, Company standards and procedures and good industry practices,
  • Treat all information obtained during course of the work with confidentiality,
  • Coordinate the Company dedicated SURF engineering team, conduct daily briefing meeting, act as Company engineering focal point, report regularly to MP management, propose corrective actions as necessary in due course,
  • Assist for pre-FEED studies,
  • Participate in launching SURF FEED (RFQ, clarifications, contract), lead the technical part
  • Follow-up and coordinate the SURF FEED studies,
  • Ensure consistency between disciplines in FEED engineering documentation,
  • Coordinate development of EPCI CFT documents with dedicated engineering team and project management,
  • Lead technical clarification during EPCI CFT,
  • Follow-up and coordination of EPCI detailed design studies,
  • Ensure consistency between disciplines in various detailed engineering documentation,
  • Collate and expedite technical query and derogation responses from engineering team and submit to management for approval. Expedite the discipline leaders to reply to the technical queries/ derogations in due time,
  • Follow-up the issued derogation's from Project level to CMS group by engineering team members,
  • Monitor readiness, schedule and coordinate HAZID/HAZOP/ Project reviews sessions with the clients, Contractors, and ensure all necessary technical reviews are planned and executed, and follow-up on actions closure in a systematic manner,
  • Follow-up the progress of the engineering works performed by the Contractor, the timely issue of the engineering documents, drawings lists and document index according to the approved MDR schedule,
  • Provide engineering and vendor documentation distribution matrix inputs to DCC group and update as necessary along the project execution,
  • Ensure effective and timely comments and/or approve via EDMS (PRODOM) of the engineering documents by the project specialists,
  • Check incorporation of Company comments by the Contractor and vendors into the resubmitted documentation,
  • To organise, control and check the inter-discipline co-ordination within project teams, in particular with FSO package.
  • To coordinate meetings with the Contractor: weekly and monthly meetings, variation order meetings and ad hoc meetings,
  • To collect data prepared by the specialists for the internal weekly and monthly reports, and to prepare the corresponding synthesis to dispatch to MP/Project management,

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualification: Master's degree in Engineering, with specialisation in subsea pipeline/risers (preferred) or subsea structures
  • Experience: in SURF engineering with a good level of technical understanding of all relevant technical disciplines
  • Experience of engineering team supervision/management on onshore/offshore oil & gas project, knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
