Orion Group is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to work onsite with our premiere medical device client in San Jose, CA.

The Software Development Engineer assists in implementing new product or enhancing current designs of software modules and components that meet functional specifications and target due dates.

The incumbent participates in component, subsystem and system concept design verifying key design parameters and evaluating design options; assists in developing and recommending methods, tools and designs for software development process improvement; summarizing details of designs, analytical methods and results; and participates on multi-functional product research and development teams, product and/or system design reviews.

A Bachelor´s Degree is required for this position. Preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering. Qualified candidates must possess 3 years of experience. Able to work as a team member using Agile software development processes to develop end-user application software for the company's innovative acoustic droplet ejection liquid handling systems. As a technical contributor, this individual must be comfortable working within a small group of developers and testers in a fast-paced environment to deliver high quality applications.

Required:
- A Bachelor´s Degree is required for this position. Preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- 3+ years experience developing Windows applications in Microsoft Visual Studio
- Strong software engineering best practices background using Agile SW development
- Demonstrated ability to adhere to source control and design control processes
- Demonstrated strong teamwork skills
- C# application development
- WinUI or WPF/UWP with XAML
- Custom and User controls
- User Experience (UX) to User Interface (UI)
- .NET 6
- Visual Studio 2019 or later
- MVVM design patterns
