Job description

We have a current urgent opportunity for a Land Acquisition Specialist on a contract basis. The position will be based in Austin, TX. For more information about this position please apply!

Responsibilities:
- Research landowner contact information of previously identified and vetted areas of interest and update
Customer Relationship Management database
- Coordinate landowner letter campaigns, with support of administrative team
- Conduct cold calls/emails to landowners, speaking to the value proposition of TotalEnergies and participating in
solar energy projects
- Quickly develop an in-depth understanding of site control documents and financeable terms, to advance
negotiations with landowners and their attorneys; expecting 80% negotiations to be complete prior to bringing
in senior leadership to close the deal
- Engage with inside/outside counsel as needed to support negotiation process
- Ability to swiftly identify whether a project/landowner partner has a high likelihood of success or whether to
end negotiations
- Ability to strategize site control expansion/optimization, with an understanding of solar development site
suitability
- Travel as needed for landowner meetings to secure sites under long-term agreements
- Prepare presentation material for landowner meetings, including site control agreements, in collaboration with
the marketing and communications manager
- Reliably update and manage workload within CRM and project management platforms, adhering to company
processes and policies


Qualifications/Experience:
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- 2+ years of experience in related field (e.g. real estate, negotiations, development, oil & gas)
- Knowledge of renewable energy development, energy markets preferred
- Able to travel and temporarily embed in targeted communities as necessary
- Possess a valid driver's license with the ability to travel long hours in company car(s)
- Technologically savvy and proficient with PC skills, including the use of the Google Earth or other web mappingplatforms, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), project management software, and customer relationship management software
- Effective communication skills, both written and oral, with a variety of stakeholders from rural farmers to C-suite executives
- Able to demonstrate a responsive, service-oriented approach to listening and responding to landowners and
internal stakeholder requests, concerns, and interests
- Has strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills with a consistent ability to deliver detail-oriented, accurate, and thorough work products
