Senior Program Manager- IT

Starting as 6-month contract with potential to extend up to 2 years

M-F 8am-5pm PST

Remote

$70/HR

Orion Group is now hiring a Senior Program Manager to work a fully remote opportunity for our intravenous medical device manufacturing client located in California.

The EMEA Senior Program Manager will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and tracking of a large integration program consisting of specific long-term inter-related programs, each of which may be composed of multiple inter-related projects, which will have a beginning, an end, and specified deliverables.

Work shall include following an over-arching Integration Framework for programs and projects, each to be performed in accordance with the Project Management Framework (PMF) and its defined phases. Depending upon need and execution success, the project scope may change/increase to include other geographic regions beyond EMEA.

Senior Program Manager Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

· Plan the Integration/Separation Program

· Define the Governance model for the EMEA Order-to-Cash Integration Program, which includes Demand and Supply Planning, Order through Fulfilment, Accounting, Finance, and Device Service business processes.)

· Working in collaboration with IT Leadership, define the scope of the Integration Program and its several programs and projects.

· Define the communications process and frequency.

· Define and hire to the need for a team of program and project managers.

· Create and execute to a high-level integrated detailed work plan that identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the Integration program.

· Determine the initial resources (time, money, equipment, etc.) required to complete the program by program and by project and then maintain the resources plan over time.

· Develop a schedule of schedules for program completion that effectively allocates required resources.

· Brief program and project schedules with C-Level executives, senior management, and other staff affected by project activities; ensure revision and update of the schedules as required.

· Determine the objectives, benefits, and measures upon which the overall program and its several programs/projects will be evaluated at completion.

Staff the Projects:

· In consultation with IT Leadership, recruit and select staff for the integration with appropriate skills for project and administrative activities.

· Working with IT leadership, contract qualified consultants to work on the program/projects, as appropriate.

Implement the Program/Projects

· Ensure the execution of the Integration and its constituent programs in accordance with approved project plan(s).

· Complete/develop forms and records to document project activities in accordance with the Integration Framework defined above and per the IT Program Management Framework as appropriate.

· Set up files to ensure that all program/project information is appropriately documented and secured.

· Monitor the progress of the program and adjust as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the Program and its constituent program/projects.

· Review the quality of the work completed with the project teams on a regular basis to ensure that all meet IT, program, and corporate standards.

Control the Program/Projects

· Develop roll-up reports on the program for management and for stakeholders.

· Monitor budgeted program expenditures by project.

· Monitor cash flow projections and report actual cash flow and variance to senior management on a regular basis (monthly/bimonthly).

· Manage all program funds according to established accounting policies and procedures.

· Ensure that all financial records for the program are up to date.

Evaluate the Program/Projects

· Ensure that project deliverables are on time, within budget, and at the required level of quality.

· Evaluate the outcomes of the Program, programs, and projects during required post-mortems.

Senior Program Manager QUALIFICATIONS:

· Strong knowledge of Project and Program Management methodologies and how to apply them.

· Previous experience managing similar large acquisition integration programs.

· Experience with integrated schedules and a very large number of simultaneous activities.

· Ability to prioritize key business objectives and respond quickly to changing priorities.

· Ability to work in a geographically-dispersed remote/hybrid team environment and positively influence others.

· Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

· Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, budget tracking, and Outlook.

· Proficient in simple accounting and data base management.

· Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.

· Minimum 7-10 years of planning and/or management experience required.

· Experience managing full-life cycle IT Applications development required.

· Experience managing in a waterfall systems development lifecycle methodology required

· Experience managing acquisition-related follow-on integration projects required.

· PgMP, PMP, Prince2, or equivalent Certification highly desired; CSM/ACP desired

· Experience in Enterprise or Project Management tools (e.g., MS Project, Planview, SmartSheet) desired.

· Experience managing in a (hybrid) agile development lifecycle desired.

· Experience with an ERP/MRP system desired; Oracle is preferred.

· Experience working in a regulated environment desired; FDA regulated environment preferred.

· Supervisory experience required; PM Mentoring experience desired.

Work Environment
* May be required to work some evenings and weekends to meet project milestones.
* This is largely a sedentary role.
* This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
* Typically requires travel less than 10% of the time; some international travel should be expected.
