Job description

Our Client, a leading global oil & gas company providing technology solutions to the energy industry, have a current opportunity for a Senior HSE Advisor to support their onsite operations based in Ross-shire.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for co-ordinating/ managing facility security.

Reporting to the HSE Manager, the HSE Advisor will liaise with the clients, contractors and staff in relation to matters of Health, Safety, Environment and Security.

Key responsibilities:

HSE

  • Base/Facilities QHSE Advisor

  • Act as Site Radiation Protection Supervisor and advise on radiation related matters (Site RPS)

  • Lead TOPSET Investigations & assist with Project investigations as required

  • Preparation of monthly management QHSES statistics & and project specific reporting requirements.

  • Facilitate/attend operations reviews & HIRAs for site activities

  • Assist in development of HSES Management System

  • Participate in QHSES Audits

  • Participate in the development and delivery of HSES training

  • Liaise with the subcontractor HSES department

  • Supervise the Synergi database

  • Liaison with regulatory bodies

  • Liaison with Clients on QHSES related matters

  • Conduct measurement and analysis for continuous improvement of existing systems (internal Audits)

  • PTW HSE checker and authoriser

  • Project HSES Document production including HIRAs Project HSE Plans, Traffic Management Plans, etc.

  • PUWER /CoW Assessor/Focal Point

  • COSHH Assessor / Focal Point

  • Specific meetings (weekly planning etc)

  • Healthy Working Lives Facilitator

  • Drug Testing Facilitator

  • Manage Waste Figures and Waste Certification

  • Manage Water Abstraction

  • Management of Change process facilitator

  • Liaise with Vessels

  • Conduct/Assist with audits

Security:

  • Serve as the primary security and incident management focal point

  • Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the Regional Security Manager

  • Implement and maintain Security & Incident Management Global Practice Standards (GPS) and other corporate directives and guidelines

  • Serve as the focal point for the Site management and staff to report security incidents to and document and report such incidents to Regional and Corporate Security as required

  • Manage external security providers that provide services to their site with the support of the Regional Security Manager

  • Disseminate appropriate security information to local management and staff as required

  • Keep Regional and Corporate Security Managers and site Management informed of Security and Incident management concerns, requirements and issues.

  • Liaison with Department of Transport

  • Liaison with Counter Terrorism

  • Liaison with all vessel Security paperwork

  • Direct contact for emergency response

Requirements:

  • NEBOSH general certificate in HSE or above

  • At least 5 years experience in a similar role

  • Higher Educational Qualifications in English

  • Diploma or SVQ Level 4 in HSE or above (preferred)

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written

  • Facilitation skills

  • Ability to proactively challenge & develop and promote solutions

  • Ability to develop a team, develop others

  • Strong focus on prioritisation & effective delivery

  • Demonstrates strong commitment to compliance and to the security culture

  • Good level of IT literacy: Word, Excel, Synergi etc.

  • PFSO qualification to current ISPS standard and CTC Clearance would be advantageous however relevant training will be provided
