Job description

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Senior Completions Engineer, based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the completion design and operations for well construction, workover and abandonment projects.
* Ensures projects are planned in full compliance with corporate policies, standards, procedures and guidelines and relevant regulatory requirements and are executed safely and efficiently.
* Preparation of completion programmes.
* Demonstrates a challenging and innovative approach, to ensure cost effective, safe and environmentally acceptable engineering solutions. Keeps abreast of new and emerging technologies in support of client's objective to be an industry leader and drives their implementation.
* Applies appropriate techniques and processes to drive performance through benchmarking and data analysis.
* Ensures appropriate peer reviews, risk assessments and assurance reviews are held for each well project with actions closed out accordingly.
* Interfaces effectively with other teams e.g. subsurface, projects, supply chain, finance to safely and successfully deliver the project.
* Contributes to the required time and cost estimates and performance tracking for each project phase.
* Supports the selection process for Offshore Completion Supervisors.
* Prepares and evaluates tenders. Acts as Technical Sponsor for certain contracts.
* Supports the contractor management process by developing highly positive relationships with contractors and suppliers. Ensures contractor delivery against KPIs/scorecards.
* Responsible for the capture and close out of lessons learnt and analysis of NPT events, and for the preparation and submission of end of well reports.
* Participates in the operational support duty rota and provides operational cover as required.
* Provides support to the Incident Management Team (IMT) in the event of a relevant incident.

Experience & Qualifications:
* Great communication skills that informs/shares knowledge clearly and unambiguously and also implements and embeds change. Builds rapport and is able to influence in a constructive way / skilled at influencing decision makers on complex topics.
* Proven ability to work collaboratively, within their team and across the organisation and externally as required.
* Networks effectively internally and externally, creating an immediate, positive and credible impression on others. Leads other parties in conversations on the important issues and use persuasive contributions to influence change and action.
* Ability to conduct tubing stress analysis.
* Thorough understanding of completion installation operations and tooling.
* Delivery focused
* Good HSE attitude and behaviours
* Positive attitude and behaviour, together with flexibility
* Sound commercial awareness: project financing and cost control principles
* Relationship-builder: internally and externally
* Well-developed communication skills
* Degree in an engineering, technology or science discipline
* Considerable experience in a completion engineering and operations role.
* Experience of risk management techniques and processes.
* Fully certified by a recognised Well Control Authority e.g. Level 4 IWCF, WELLCAP.
