Job description

Due to an increase in workload our Client has a requirement for semi-skilled labourers to join their facilities in Montrose.

Shift pattern (subject to change):

Rotation: 2 weeks dayshift/ 2 weeks nightshift, as well as following a 9-day fortnight on dayshift (with every second Friday off)

Dayshift: 7am - 4pm Monday to Thursday, Friday 7am - 2.30pm.

Nightshift: 9pm - 7am Monday to Wednesday, Thursday 9.30pm - 7am.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Maintain housekeeping of assigned areas (internal and external spaces)
  • Clear and grit paths and roads during cold weather
  • Ensure tooling storage, yard and outdoor areas are kept in an orderly fashion and clear of leaves, litters, and debris.
  • Support housekeeping activities and checks across the site
  • Empty workshop bins, conduct waste and cleaning station checks daily
  • Waste stream management (Liaise with vendor to ensure correct skips are available and emptied as required).
  • Report housekeeping and waste stream non-conformances.
  • Conduct and support forklift and overhead crane lifting operations across the site.
  • Conduct and support (manual handling) moving and handling operations across the site.
  • Conduct and support preparation of equipment for preservation, cleaning, coating preparation, tooling requests and offsite shipping.
  • Conduct and support pre & post use inspection checks of moving and handling equipment.
  • Work in line with and adhere to all BH HSE, Quality, Compliance
  • Attend and complete all assigned training and competencies.
  • Support the implementation of 6S projects across the site.
  • Contribute by identifying and delivering 2 continuous improvement projects per year.

Skills/Experience:

  • Forklift certificate (ideally up to 5 tonne, however can also consider 3 tonne)
  • Overhead crane / Lifting & Slinging
  • Pressure Washing
  • Housekeeping
  • Preservation
  • Shipping/Logistics Support
  • Lean / 6S Manufacturing

Clean driving license is also beneficial as the individual would need to travel between the sites in Montrose
