Job description

Our Client is currently recruiting for the position of Procurement Manager, based in the Fort William area.

As Procurement Manager you will oversee the ordering of materials, analyse costs, negotiate contract details and offer strategies and solutions to help better manage costs on supplies and vendor services.

Responsibilities

  • To lead on capital sourcing planning.

  • To work within budget constraint to increase profitability and to meet project requirements.

  • To analyse and prepare contracts, create purchase orders.

  • To participate in contract negotiations.

  • To oversee purchase of materials and supplies.

  • To analyse purchase, offer bids and invoices ensuring accuracy of goods delivered.

  • To assist in asset management procedures as and when required.

  • Negotiate terms with suppliers including price, payment terms, quality of goods/equipment, deadlines.

  • To manage inventory, deciding when to make purchases, place and track orders.

  • Liaise with Site Managers, suppliers and project managers regarding updates and details of goods.

  • To ensure any contractual obligations are favourable to the company.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in finance, business studies, accounting or a related field.

  • Medium to large proect purchase experience.

  • Advanced negotiation and problem-solving skills.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with specialists, vendors, business leaders and service providers.

  • Detail-oriented team player with the ability to work independently.

  • Proven experience analysing business supply needs, ensuring the best possible material and equipment are sourced (within budget).
