Job description

Our client is seeking an Operations Training Advisor to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis, based in Muir of Ord.

As the Operations Training Advisor you will ensure all Operator Training is efficiently planned and executed across site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, deliver, evaluate, document, continually improve. Build on the existing training materials and methods to make it as impactful as possible and deliver the safest and most repeatable tasks to ensure a quality product. Result should be a more engaged workforce.

  • Identify training and development needs within an organisation through job analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with business managers and human resources departments.

  • Design and expand training and development programmes based on the needs of the organisation and the individual.

  • Use a task-based approach to further develop training material content and training delivery methods. Match the training needs to the learning objectives.

  • Target a 70/20/10 approach, Experience (70%), Exposure (20%), and Education (10%) (or the 3 E's). Facilitate learning that occurs directly on the job and learning that occurs when co-workers share information.

  • Create and/or deliver a range of training using written training materials, classroom, video, practical, mentoring, shadowing and/or following programs on the job (OTJ) and blended learning.

  • Consider the costs of planned programmes and keep within budgets. Plan and assess the 'return on investment' of any training or development programme.

  • Further develop effective induction programmes for new staff

  • Monitor and review the progress of trainees through questionnaires and discussions with managers.

  • Manage the delivery of training and development programmes.

  • Ensure that statutory training requirements are met.

  • Amend and revise programmes as necessary, in order to adapt to changes occurring in the work environment.

  • Researching and recommending new training techniques to HR, creating the curriculum and updating it to reflect developments within the industry.

Essential

  • Prior work experience in a similar role and with experience in a 24/7 Manufacturing environment.

  • Ideally degree qualified.

  • Experience in Training or HR role.
