Job description


Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Operations Accounting Team Lead, based in Aberdeen.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
*Lead your team to deliver high-quality results that meet business and finance stakeholder
requirements, acting as a role model for the company's values and fostering a culture of
responsibility and accountability.
*You will coach team members to develop their capabilities, set clear goals and objectives, and drive continuous improvement to ensure efficient processes and value-adding reporting.
*Supporting personal development through focused training, new technology utilization, and on-the-job experience, you will manage resources effectively to ensure budgeted outputs and costs are met.
*Regularly defining and reviewing team roles and responsibilities, you will oversee month-end schedules, IFRS16, inventory transactions, and journal postings.
*Ensuring SOX and internal controls are documented, reviewed, and complied with, you will support joint venture audits and address complex logistics audit findings.
*Additionally, you will hold regular team and stakeholder meetings to ensure proactive planning and alignment and provide ad hoc information and support to the Manager - Accounting as required.

Experience
*The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the North Sea upstream oil and gas
industry, comprehensive accounting experience, and expertise in the application of SOAPs to
an Operator.
*Proficiency in SAP systems is essential.
*You will demonstrate strong leadership skills, integrity, and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups.
*An accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or similar) is required.
*Excellent communication, problem-solving, and planning skills, along with a commitment to continuous improvement and process efficiencies, are essential.
*You should possess excellent communication, problem-solving and planning skills, with have
a track record of delivering high-quality results under pressure.
*Additionally, you should be committed to continuous improvement and be capable of using technology to drive process efficiencies.
