Job description

Our Client, a well-established business operating within a renewable energy sector, have a vacancy for a Mechancal Maintenance Fitter to join their manufacturing operations located in Invergordon, Ross-shire.

Reporting to Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will be working as a part of the Maintenance Team, assisting in problem solving activities on key technical equipment problems and provide support to maintenance teams on technical equipment when required.

They will work closely with all staff in each area to ensure the smooth running of core business plant, maximise the utilisation of machinery and equipment, proactively work to eliminate plant downtime and make improvements to the processes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Working at an expert level providing and developing preventative maintenance regimes covering hydraulic and mechanical equipment around the site

  • Repairing and rebuilding hydraulic equipment

  • Repairing and rebuilding pneumatic equipment

  • Engaging in welding/cutting/grinding as required

  • Repairing and building pumps

  • Repairing and building gear boxes

  • Parts changes where necessary

  • Positively contributing to any team meetings arranged concerning issues relating to production and maintenance

  • Comply with Health and Safety policies and procedures including the wearing of all personal protective equipment issued

  • Follow Permit to Work, Risk Assessments and SSOW

  • Any other duties as required

Skills / Experience:

  • Qualified time served Maintenance Fitter or candidates with relevant Mechanical experience in an industrial environment

  • Analytical capacity to identify and address technical issues/opportunities which can impact upon production and quality

  • Experience in troubleshooting installation, fault finding, and repairs

  • Computer literate

  • Hydraulics

  • Mechanic Systems

  • Pneumatics

  • Welding/Grinding

  • Cutting

  • Bearings, belts, chains, pumps and gearboxes

Hours of work:

The pot holder will be required to work 12-hour alternating shifts from 7am-7pm, including some of the weekends.
