Job description

Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Management Accountant to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis, based in the North-West Highlands.

As Junior Management Accountant you will assist with regular management reporting as well as the implementation of system and process improvements. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about accountancy and would like to live in a remote part of the Scottish Highlands while progressing in their career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with bringing production of Monthly Management Accounts in house

  • Assist with establishment of finance month end procedures

  • Assist the Finance Manager with the preparation of monthly Management Accounts and balance sheet reconciliations

  • Assist with the implementation and administration of the accounting and purchasing systemsProvide cover for other members of the finance team as required

Skills & Experience

  • Previous relevant accounting experience and knowledge Is essential

  • Full or part professional accounting qualification (CA, ACCA or CIMA) desirable, however, consideration will be given to applicants qualified by experience

  • Confident user of Xero as well as other office applications (applicants with experience of similar accounting packages will also be considered)

  • Advanced Excel skills an advantage

  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and high level of accuracy

  • Flexible team player with good communication skills

  • Practical approach to problem solving

  • Ability to work as part of a small team with a high level of self-management
