Orion Group is seeking an Instructional Designer to work a remote role for our multinational pharmaceutical client.

The primary objective for this role is to facilitate the acquisition of knowledge, skills, and competencies and develop instructional design assets in an effective and captivating manner. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the learning journey of individuals.

The Strategic Learning Instructional Designer will be responsible to:

  • Work effectively with subject matter experts in the medical device/combination drug-device safety space and the Strategic Learning organization, to synthesize knowledge and recommend effective and creative uses of technologies to create new learning environments
  • Identify and communicate information clearly and succinctly by employing excellent listening behaviors and paraphrasing techniques to confirm understanding across individuals with diverse roles across the organization.

  • Design and develop instructional materials, incorporate instructional design theory and principles and create engaging and compelling course content utilizing multimedia tools to enhance the learning process at the direction of learning organization.
  • Leverage expertise in curriculum development and instructional strategies will be crucial in ensuring the delivery of high-quality learning experiences.
  • Apply knowledge of instructional design theory to design course content
  • Collaborate and understand project deliverable and timelines to ensure on-time and effective learning design and development.

Instructional Designer Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assess the needs of the Training organization
  • Design effective intervention strategies that improve individual and organizational performance
  • Establish standards for training and performance assessment. Conduct education needs assessment; Develop curricula
  • Consult and apply advanced instructional design
  • Plan and design education/training material; Train instructors
  • Evaluate all aspects of entity training; Assess impact of training on job performance
  • Facilitate team intervention.
  • Participate in internal audits.
  • Introduces new training ideas into the organization, adapts new ideas and converts them into approaches that meet training/regulatory challenges.
  • Leads projects, identifies scope and outcomes, motivates participants and leads project to conclusion.
  • May oversee other instructors and their work.
  • Works with supervisors/managers to develop plans, timetables and contingencies for performance improvement intervention.
  • Participates in benchmarking and evaluates training effectiveness.
  • Establishes measurement and evaluation designs and develops assessment instruments.

Education:

BA/BS required.

Experience: 2 to 4 years of training/instructional design.

Key Competencies Required:

  • Excellent project management capabilities, strong communication skills, strong conceptual abilities, and strong team orientation.
  • Expertise in rapid instructional design development and use of development tools such as Articulate, Vyond, Canva, and video editing software.
  • Expertise working with clients to synthesize complex inputs and translate into relatable, engaging and creative learning objectives, activities, and assessments (where necessary)
  • Experience with organizing and co facilitating online and live workshop environments.
  • Experience leading conversations with clients to gather feedback on in-process learning development in order to address learning gaps.
