Instructional Designer

Hybrid, onsite Tues - Thurs, Monday & Friday Remote

1 year contract

$39-42/HR based on health benefits

Orion Group is looking for a VERY experienced Instructional Designer/Learning strategist who has expertise with illustration, graphic design, ADDIE, and all learning modality tools to help build training for medical devices for our pharmaceutical client in North Chicago.

The Instructional Designer will introduce new training ideas into the organization, adapt new ideas, and convert them into approaches that meet training/regulatory challenges. They will also lead projects, identify scope and outcomes, motivate participants, and leads project to conclusion.

The Instructional Designer may oversee other instructors and their work, and works with supervisors/managers to develop plans, timetables, and contingencies for performance improvement intervention. They will also participate in benchmarking, evaluate training effectiveness, establish measurement and evaluation designs, and develops assessment instruments.



To be successful in this role you must have:
ADDIE experience
Instruction design certification
Articulate experience
Simple Show experience
illustration experience
Graphic design experience


Instructional Designer Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assess the needs of the organization
  • Design effective intervention strategies that improve individual and organizational performance; Establish standards for training and performance assessment.
  • Conduct education needs assessment
  • Develop curricula
  • Consult and apply advanced instructionaldesign
  • Plan and design education/training material
  • Train instructors
  • Evaluate all aspects of entity training
  • Assess impact of training on job performance
  • Facilitate team interventions
  • Participate in internal audits.

Instructional Designer Eligibility Requirements:

Education: BA/BS required.

Experience: 5 plus years of training/instructional design or related experience preferably in healthcare or another regulated field.

Key Competencies Required: Excellent project management capabilities, strong communication skills, strong conceptual abilities, and strong team orientation.
