Finance Systems Analyst

Global Role - Support All countries/AREAS

1 Year contract with opportunity to convert FTE.

Hybrid (1-2 days onsite)

Irvine, CA

$40/HR

Orion Group is seeking a Finance System Analyst who is a proactive self-starter and is innovative and eager to understand current processes, and identify areas of opportunity for our pharmaceutical client in Irvine, CA.

Top 3-5 skills required to be considered for this position:

  • Advanced Excel / Power BI skills

  • Planning Systems [ any experience developing or supporting any of the following: Longview,SAC, TM1, Anaplan, BPC]

  • Accounting / Finance Degree- MBA preferred.

  • Must have a nice mix of technical/finance/customer service skills to build relationships and rapport with team and others.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

The Finance System Analyst primary responsibilities will be to develop and improve the Global Financial Planning tool with the supervision of the Finance Systems Director.

The Finance System Analyst is responsible for running maintenance tasks of the Global company system for planning and reporting and providing training to all new users.

The Finance System Analyst will also serve as developer and trainer, helping implement system solutions that advance the organization's financial planning platform Longview.

Finance Business Partnership Training:

  • Train AGN users to use Longview

  • Automate business processes

REPORTS TO:

  • Director Finance Systems

  • Effectively manage matrix relationships with Finance teams, BSG and BTS.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Architect, design, develop and implement Longview Aesthetics Globally [$6B USD Business]:

  • Work closely with System team (Longview Team) Support Symbol/dimension management, metadata design/maintenance, and data validation processes as part of Financial Planning Systems.

  • Work with management to further develop forecasting tools (i.e., Longview) to satisfy business requirements.

  • Develop technical design specifications and analyze data to create data structures, dimensions, and measures.

  • Develop Longview processes & SAC procedures and rules for building enterprise-wide planning applications.

  • Data Modeling, design and implementation based on best practices and recognized standards.

  • Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies, including code of conduct, safety, GxP compliance, data security, and the software development lifecycle.

  • Data Validation in Longview & SAC [SAP,BPC, HFM, BIP]

  • Validate AGN data and accuracy in Longview and SAC vs HFM, BIP

  • Identify source of variance root cause

  • Month End / LBE / LRP / Budget cycles

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree B.S. or B.A. in Business (Accounting/Finance) Preferred although not essential. Qualified by experience candidates will also be considered.

  • 3+ years of finance/accounting experience. Preferably gained in FP&A setting

  • Strong team building skills; ability to set and align goals/priorities.

  • Strong business partnership skills and team-oriented nature.

  • Experience supporting and presenting to senior business and finance leaders.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities (across different time zones) to achieve results and meet deadlines.

  • Strong sense of initiative & inquisitive self-starter.

  • Disposition to generate ideas and embrace the ideas of others to manage innovation to reality.

  • Knowledge of finance systems and business processes essential.

  • Longview, SAC, SAP Business Objects, SAP ECC, Teams and Excel, Power BI, Python, Java will be preferred although not essential.
