Associate Scientist
Worcester, MA
6+ month contract - possible extension
Hourly Rate $30-33/hr
Shift hours:
* Sunday to Wed 6:00 am to 4:30pm (1 opening)
* Wed to Saturday 6:00 am to 4:30pm (1 opening)

Orion Group is seeking to hire two Associate Scientists for our premiere pharmaceutical manufacturing client in Worcester, MA. Ideal candidates will have 2-3 yrs experience in manufacturing, QA, QC or R&D in the pharma or biologics industry.

The Associate Scientist II performs laboratory testing within a fast paced GMP environment in support of one or more of the following areas; raw materials, environmental monitoring, in-process product, final Bulk product, stability, and/or validation. They will Analyze test data and evaluates results, write procedures with guidance, and work under the guidance of a supervisor but also manage time efficiently in achieving timely completion of assigned duties.

Responsibilities:
* Performs test methods as written to support product/material release.
* Understands and maintains a safe work environment for themselves and others in accordance with procedural requirements.
* Understands, implements and maintains GMP with respect to laboratory records, procedures and systems in accordance with procedural requirements
* Will perform a multitude of laboratory techniques for which they are trained
* Accepts responsibility to complete assigned tasks as committed. Works with others to maintain a positive atmosphere to accomplish business objectives.
* Revises procedures as necessary and provides support for department.
* Support investigations
* Will effectively perform a multitude of laboratory techniques for which they are trained on with minimal error.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in related life science discipline OR High School Diploma
* Must have 2 to 3 years of combined experience in Manufacturing, QA, QC, R&D in pharmaceutical or biologics industry
* Possesses basic lab knowledge and ability to operate, troubleshoot, calibrate & maintain lab instruments
* Experience in a GMP Lab is ideal
