Job description

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Verification Engineer, based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities:
Ensure Verification standards, procedures and processes are in place, communicated and maintained to support the consistent application of the HSE Management System requirements, promoting continuous improvement opportunities, initiatives, optimisations (technology, tools, systems)
* Manage planning and coordination of onshore and offshore verification activities, coordination of ICP resources, collaborating and communicating across functions to achieve alignment with the business objectives and targets.
* Monitor the quality, accuracy and status of findings and actions
* Share progress and technical work across functions as appropriate
* Manage and monitor day to day requirements of the Verification contractual arrangements
* Deliver verification awareness training to relevant personnel within the organisation including key contractors
* Support continuous improvement activities including the support of HSE by undertaking audits and reviews
* Engage in networking with key industry work groups/bodies including OEUK / Step Change
* Carry out regular installation site visits to liaise with offshore personnel
Role-models compliance with HSE policy and seeks to demonstrate conformance with the Corporate Major Accident Prevention Policy. Ensures that all activities are planned and conducted in compliance with HSE policy.
* Manages resources to produce results through effective supervision, coaching and allocation of work. Communicates effectively and consistently role models the Company's values. Readily accepts accountability and insists on it from others. Coaches team members to develop personal capabilities and enhance the technical capability of the team. Supports the personal development of individuals and demonstrates a personal commitment to lifelong learning.
* Manages resources to deliver budgeted outputs and costs. Effectively manages resources within their control, minimises waste, and risk, and raises potential budgetary issues as soon as they are identified.
Experience & Qualifications:
A robust knowledge and understanding of the upstream oil and gas environment.
* Experience in a similar role either offshore or onshore.
* A robust knowledge of UKCS regulatory requirements.
* Knowledge of Corporate Major Accident Hazards and Process Safety Management techniques and requirements.
* A robust knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems and maintenance methods, preferably with SAP.
* A robust knowledge of Project and Change management processes is essential.
* A strong sense of ethics, honesty and integrity in all decision and actions and strong personal commitment to upholding the highest standards of HSE.
* Advanced knowledge of Excel and ability to use spreadsheets, graphing, tables, calculations, and automation efficiently to process large quantities of data relevant to business tasks.
* Excellent interpersonal skills are required to communicate effectively to all parties
* Being degree qualified is desirable, however not essential where experience and knowledge can be demonstrated within a similar role.
