Purchasing Assistant
Permanent
Salary £30,000 + bonus + defined pension + other benefits
Location - Perth / Hybrid working.

Our client, an innovative and successful manufacturing engineering business is keen to appoint an ambitious Purchasing Assistant to join their Procurement Team. The business offers a competitive salary and extensive benefits package as well as excellent career progression and personal development.

About you:
* You will have a gained experience working within a purchasing team, ideally within a manufacturing/engineering background and are keen to progress your career.
* You will already have knowledge and understanding of purchasing processes including supply chain markets and supplier management.
* Ability to work independently and you will seek to continuously improve. You will have excellent communication skills.
* IT skills including Word, Outlook, Excel, & some knowledge of ERP systems.
* Strong team focus and attention to detail

About the role:
* Responsible for assisting the delivery of the procurement strategy which will provide "best value" for the business.
* Ensuring that the business has the right materials, at the right time, at the right price, in line with the business goals.
* Assist the Senior Buyer in the provision of an annual spend of approximately £5-6M
* Procurement of goods and services
* Purchasing process - placing orders onto computer system, checking order delivery schedules and processing goods in receipts
* General problem solving - ensuring all queries with invoices and purchase orders are investigated until resolved.
* Participate in annual stock count process.
* Communicating with all levels of personnel within the company updating them on status of orders, scheduling, availability and if necessary, alternatives.
