Job Title: Senior Civil Project Engineer
Company Overview: Our Client is at the forefront of engineering innovation, leading the charge towards a sustainable energy future. With a focus on pioneering projects in clean fuels production and industrial infrastructure development, we are committed to shaping a greener, more resilient world. We are currently embarking on two groundbreaking projects: a world-scale hydrogen plant construction and a Greenfield Refinery and Carbon Capture Project. These projects represent significant advancements in clean energy production and carbon capture technology, and we are seeking a talented Senior Civil Project Engineer to play a key role in their success.
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Senior Civil Project Engineer to join our innovative team at the initial stages of the Greenfield Refinery and Carbon Capture Project. The successful candidate will also contribute their expertise to the ongoing development of our world-scale hydrogen plant. This role will involve overseeing civil engineering aspects during the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) phase, ensuring meticulous planning and execution to meet project objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in large module projects, design engineering, and civil construction, with specific expertise in foundation design, soil remediation, and pile design.
Key Responsibilities:
Civil Engineering Leadership:
- Provide technical leadership in civil engineering disciplines, overseeing the design, construction, and implementation of civil structures for both projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of civil engineering requirements into the overall project design.
FEED Phase Management:
- Contribute to the development and management of the FEED phase, including scope definition, cost estimation, and schedule planning.
- Work closely with project managers to establish project objectives, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with overall project goals.
Site Planning and Layout:
- Lead the development of site plans and layouts, considering factors such as topography, geotechnical conditions, and environmental considerations.
- Collaborate with architects, surveyors, and other engineering disciplines to optimize the spatial arrangement of facilities.
Structural Design and Analysis:
- Oversee the design and analysis of civil structures, including foundations, retaining walls, and support structures for equipment.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.
Geotechnical Engineering:
- Conduct and oversee geotechnical investigations to assess soil conditions and provide recommendations for foundation design.
- Collaborate with geotechnical engineers to mitigate risks associated with soil instability.
Permitting and Regulatory Compliance:
- Work closely with regulatory authorities to obtain necessary permits and approvals for civil engineering aspects of the projects.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and legal requirements related to civil engineering activities.
Construction Support:
- Provide technical support during the construction phase, collaborating with construction managers and contractors to ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor the progress of civil construction activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in civil engineering for large-scale industrial projects, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, codes, and standards.
- Proficiency in civil engineering software and project management tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
