Project Controls Manager - Solar

Responsibilities

  • Enforce Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policy in all his/her responsibilities and ensure that external third parties (EPC firms, consultants.) operate in a manner acceptable to HSE standards
  • Schedule management, financial forecasting, QA/QC, progress reporting, CAPEX formation, Bid Analysis
  • Collaborate with Project Management Teams (including Program Directors, Program Managers, and Project Leaders) in the development, review, and forecasts, and estimate-at-completion (EAC) and associated reporting and analysis
  • Work with Developers, project managers and finance teams to create project specific work breakdown structures and manage level 1 project and portfolio schedules.
  • Create and manage capital expenditure project estimates, forecasts, budgets and cashflows for all projects.
  • Collaborate with engineering and finance teams to optimize project designs to maximize the project rate of returns.
  • Review EPC bid tabs and project cost to formulate and forecast future project costs and extrapolate industry trends.
  • Work with project accounting, finance and project management teams monthly project budget and loan draw reconciliation.
  • During the execution of the Project, continuous review of the several Project Control tools, Project Company and EPC teams, including
  • Monthly and Weekly Reports, KPIs, commissioning support, Contractual analysis to cover possible EOTs, risk analysis,…
  • Review and identify EPC critical paths and if necessary, recovery schedules to determine compliance with project objectives.
  • Manage the collection, organization and filing of all project documentation, both internally and for external third-party stakeholders.
  • Assist with the development of internal operating policies, standards and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate Degree in engineering, project management, construction management, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Planning, Scheduling, estimating and budgeting of large projects.
  • Detailed knowledge of the EPC project delivery method is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Primavera Planning & Scheduling Software and tools related to project control (including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite tools).
  • Detailed and process oriented with a self-driven demeanor.
  • Require familiarity with photovoltaic solar design and technical standards as well as design optimization processes.
  • Experience wind renewable energy a plus.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, CPM scheduling, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as Adobe Acrobat
  • Superior communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, capable of leading efficiently and outperforming assigned objectives.
  • Excellent organizational skills demonstrated by clear and effective project plans and executive level reporting that ensure timely action and decision making in time-pressured scenarios.
  • Energy storage knowledge a plus
