Job description

Position: Process Safety Management (PSM) Consultant

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) workshops, including HAZOP, What-if, LOPA, and/or HAZID.
  • Provide expertise in Management of Change (MoC), Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR), emergency planning and response, mechanical integrity, and the development of PSM standards and systems.
  • Conduct compliance audits to assess adherence to relevant health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) regulations and management systems.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop and implement functional safety measures.
  • Lead incident investigations, analyze root causes, and recommend preventive measures.
  • Contribute to project planning and management, ensuring timely delivery and meeting client requirements.
  • Prepare and coordinate bids for consultancy projects, including developing proposals and cost estimates.
  • Utilize bowtie analysis techniques to assess risk scenarios and develop effective risk management strategies.
  • Deliver comprehensive training sessions on process safety management principles and practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Process Safety Management, preferably in major hazard industries.
  • Proficiency in OHSA PSM Elements and familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Proven experience in facilitating PHA workshops and conducting compliance audits.
  • Strong understanding of HSSE management systems and functional safety principles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in incident investigation, project management, and bid preparation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients and stakeholders.
  • Certifications such as Certified Process Safety Professional (CCPSC), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or equivalent are desirable.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to client sites.
