Overview:
Principal Electrical Designer
Position: Contract
Location: Houston, TX

Our client is currently recruiting for an experienced Principal Electrical Designer with the capability of performing calculations and design of lighting, power, cable tray, grounding systems, and electrical building arrangements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Required knowledge of all electrical and maritime standards as they relate to offshore facility design
Complete understanding and application of electrical technical principles, theories and concepts with focus on offshore facilities.
General knowledge of other related disciplines and required interactions
Required to design components, modules, buildings and other systems, and modify existing designs to develop or improve them.
Provides solutions to a wide range of complex problems under general direction however approaches work proactively, taking ownership of solutions
Able to determine required deliverables, scheduling and status reporting of those deliverables
Required to communicate effectively with all levels of internal management and working professionally with client representatives
Project requires 100% presence in the Houston office work (no Work From Home).

Qualifications:
Required 15+ years of electrical design experience.
Experience in electric design
Must be proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook
Must be proficient in the use of Electronic PDF Mark-Up Tools (such as Bluebeam and/or PDF Xchange Pro)
Must be proficient in the use of ACAD, Microstation. SPEL and E3D
