Job description

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Platform Decommissioning Engineer, based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities:
* Provide a high level of technical support across all UKCS decommissioning projects and ensure timely development of all deliverables required of the company's International Stage Gate Process.
* Liaise with other disciplines within the CPEL Decommissioning Team - and as necessary, wider matrix organization - to ensure fit-for-purpose, cost-effective and regulatory compliant decommissioning solutions are identified and delivered in a timely manner across the full decommissioning scope.
* Focus on innovative technologies and methodologies to support CPEL's ambition to drive down the cost of decommissioning in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
* Demonstrate awareness of the appropriate statutory legislation, Safety Case and Safety Management Systems used to support the role.
* Act as technical focal point for Platform Decommissioning engagement with Regulators (NSTA, DESNZ, HSE) and engagement of Supply Chain / technology providers.
* Scope platform decommissioning activities - including identification and mitigation of any potential issues arising in execution and/or handover phases - to ensure CPEL's decommissioning liabilities are fully understood and delivered in accordance with DESNZ, NSTA and HSE expectations.
* Provide suitable oversight of 3rd party work to ensure it is completed in accordance with CPEL expectations and industry regulations. Ensure close-out of engineering scopes is completed in a timely manner.
* Review and challenge scope to ensure the optimum use of methods and resources.
* Apply fit-for-purpose Management of Change in line with Company procedures.
* As required, undertake site visits to Supply Chain providers and offshore visits to the Scott Platform.
* Develop and maintain positive and constructive relationships with Project stakeholders.
* Openly and proactively share knowledge / Lessons Learned.
* Role-model compliance with our HSE policy, ensuring that all activities are planned and conducted without compromise to the highest HSE standards.

Experience & Qualifications:
* Relevant Engineering Degree (BEng or MEng) or equivalent experience.
* Process background works best but can consider someone who's Mechanical biased - no other disciplines please.
* Previous experience in the Project Management of multidiscipline offshore engineering (construction or decommissioning).
* A broad working knowledge of platform topsides would be desirable, e.g. understanding of interaction between process and utility systems.
* Knowledge and experience of applicable regulations, codes and standards.
* Current offshore survival, medical and MIST certification preferred.
