Job description

Orion Group Life Sciences are looking for a Payroll Specialist for our Pharmaceutical client based in the Haarlem Area. Starting in July until the end of the year 2024 for a maternity cover. This is a hybrid position, where you will work 2-3 days from the office. This is a part-time position for 32 hours per week.

What will you do
The main purpose of the payroll specialist role is to ensure timely and accurate processing of monthly and annual payroll and time and attendance tasks, as well as all benefits related administration. This is a "go-to" role for most employee's questions and requests.

Main Responsibilities of the role

  • Accurate and timely collection of payroll input data for all entities received from HR and other departments.
  • Conducts close review/monitoring of records for payroll changes submitted; works in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Answering payroll questions from employees and/or managers concerning payroll mutations.
  • Accurate and timely processing of payroll.
  • Accurate and timely processing of benefit plan mutations (e.g. Pension fund, Benify, UWV etc).
  • Create employers' statements.
  • Key interface between outsourced payroll provider (ADP & Mazars) and employees internally; as well as regular interaction with all external official bodies.
  • End-to-end HR operations, incl. Time & Attendance (time-Wize & Employee Central) and Payroll Systems (ADP).
  • Other ad-hoc jobs and actions which are applicable to the payroll function.

Desired Experience and Background of the successful candidate

  • Ideally 5+ years of relevant and comparable payroll and benefits experience for The Netherlands.
  • Associates PDL degree in payroll. Equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience of working with ADP is a plus.
  • Experience of working in projects.
  • Basic accounting skills.
  • Familiar with Dutch pension system.
  • Service orientated and flexible attitude.
  • Good social and communication skills both verbally and in writing (English and Dutch).
  • Able to work independently, as needed, exercising judgement and initiative.
  • Structured, timely and accurate with focus on details.
  • Discretion, integrity, and confidentiality in dealing with salary and other employee data, ensuring GDPR compliance.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel).
