Onshore Cable Installation Manager

Role Description

Responsibilities:

  • Secure and execute onshore export cable installation contracts for all projects.

Collaboration:

  • Align interface and installation methodology between onshore installation and supply.
  • Align interfaces at the Transition Joint Bay (TJB) with the Offshore Export Cable TSM.
  • Align joint interfaces at the Transition Joint Bay (TJB) with the Offshore Cable Installation Manager.

Scope:

  • Plan, de-risk, and execute the scope to ensure it is delivered on time and within budget with the right quality.
  • Prioritize work within the scope and the team.
  • Facilitate cross-discipline cooperation (Interface Management).
  • Perform scope decisions based on recommendations.
  • Ensure NCRs and Lessons Learned are properly registered.
  • Ensure Change Requests, Variation Orders, and claims are properly assessed, communicated, and managed with relevant stakeholders.
  • Comply with guidelines and current standards, i.e., ISO9001, IMS requirements, good engineering practice, and local requirements.
  • Ensure hand-over of agreed documentation to O&M and/or OFTO.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong Project Management skills.
  • Good understanding of contracts and cable installation.

Reporting Lines:

  • Management Line: Head of Export Cable Management.
  • Project Management: HV Cable Project Manager/ONS Project Manager.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Align on land and properties for onshore cable routes with the Land and Property team.
  • Collaborate on site investigation data for onshore cable route design.

Key Responsibilities in Relation to Stakeholders:

  • Facilitate cross-discipline cooperation (Interface Management).
  • Ensure Change Requests and Variation Orders and claims are properly assessed, communicated, and managed together with relevant stakeholders.

This role requires an individual who can effectively manage the installation of export cables onshore from and including the Transition Joint Bay (TJB) using PMI methodology, best practices, policies, and guidelines.
