Job description

We have another fantastic opportunity as an experienced Occupational Health and HSSE Administrator in a Contract Role working for one of Canada's largest projects in a world class environment.

The successful Occupational Health and HSSE Administrator will support the ambition of our major client's to uphold and implement stringent and industry led health and safety processes to minimize health and safety risks associated with its business activities. Our client's staff must perform their work duties without limitation and remain fit for duty and in a mental and physical condition that allows them to work safely and productivity and your role will play a significant part in their success.

To assist the Occupational Health and HSSE team, our major client requires an admin staff member who will be tasked with managing confidential information, booking follow up appointments, managing health screening data in accordance with local legislation and company policies.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Assist with on site and digital records management
  • Assist with initiating health monitoring programs though data management
  • Audit employee medical records to track information on upcoming health screening
  • Book appointments for audiometric testing
  • Book appointments for schedules health screening assessments.
  • Book appointments for fitness to work assessments
  • Forward assessment results and received employee documents to Occupational Health Physician and Occupational Health Nurse
  • Maintain strict privacy and confidentiality as per legislative requirements

To be successful, you will have:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience with Occupational Health in an administrative role.
  • Working knowledge of Work Safe BC and Worker Compensation Act
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills towards building relationships in a dynamic, integrated, diverse/multi-cultural environment
  • Excellent time management skills and excel in working under pressure in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Excellent data management skills

This role requires that you:

  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada (i.e., by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permit)
  • This role is in Kitimat, BC. The contract Work is permanent full-time hours and is in the beautiful District of Stikine (Kitimat/Terrace). Relocation may be required if you are not from the area for the duration of the contract. For applicants located outside of the region, you are encouraged to explore what Kitimat has to offer.
  • Work 40 hours per week
  • May be required to complete a variety of pre-screening, IE. a pre-placement medical assessment of your fitness for duty, a background check and Pre-Site Access testing for alcohol and specified drugs.
  • Hold a Valid Driver's license
  • Disclose if you have previously worked in a government/agency role.
