Job Summary

The Mechanical Reliability Engineer will provide a range of engineering, technical, and operational support to the asset to optimize static and rotating mechanical equipment reliability and availability for the Gulf of Mexico (GOM) asset. This position will work closely with the Asset Technical Authorities to provide understanding of the critical mechanical/rotating equipment and associated reliability processes to provide asset operations with subject matter expertise they do not have otherwise.

The Mechanical Reliability Engineer is critical to enabling the GOM asset to achieve maximum value to the corporation, focusing on system reliability and availability. Core responsibilities include bad actor analytics, root cause analysis, and asset strategy management for static equipment, pumps, and other mechanical equipment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
* Analyze/troubleshoot abnormal operating equipment and equipment failures, to establish and monitor reliability bad actors across the asset.
* Facilitate/perform Root Cause Failure Analysis with focus on reliability bad actors with travel to vendor shops and offshore facilities as required. Report findings and failure cause, while identifying remedial and preventative actions.
* Collaborate with Technical Authorities to steward asset strategy for static equipment, pumps, combustion engines, and other mechanical equipment:
* Develop and optimize maintenance strategies and routines for equipment groups/packages, examples include preventative, predictive, condition based maintenance, and evaluation of run to failure case.
* Develop and optimize equipment repair and spare strategies as well as equipment standards based on value.
* Develop and optimize reliability operating envelopes for equipment groups/packages, perform regular audits of envelopes, and seek out equipment/process optimization
* Routinely monitor equipment health databases (i.e. Solar InSight, Bently Nevada System 1, Polaris Laboratories Fluid Analysis data, FLIR data, etc.)
* Adhere to LEAN work management processes to ensure work flows are efficient and waste is eliminated (i.e. SAP Notifications, etc.) and prioritize customer engagement through focused GEMBA visits.

Qualifications, Knowledges, Skills and Abilities

* Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent discipline
· 10-15 years engineering experience supporting oil/gas production operations with heavy emphasis toward mechanical discipline
· Experience leading reliability programs and projects
· Working knowledge in system surveillance and condition monitoring of rotating equipment
· Experience coordinating/collaborating with mechanical vendors
· Experience applying statistical tools to data analysis to identify "Bad Actor" equipment (i.e.: Reliability Modeling, SAP, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), etc.)
· Working knowledge and use of regulatory compliance and engineering standards (ASME B31.3 & Section VIII Div. 1, API 510/570/610/etc, ASTM, OSHA, CFR, BSEE)
* Willing and able to travel to offshore locations (platforms) for onsite support, when and as needed.
