Work closely with external research and technology suppliers to ensure a competitive end-to-end solution.
Interface with the systems team to integrate the sub-system design into the wider plant design.
Use supply chain data to understand solution cost, and manage cost models for the design.
Develop low-cost, low-risk methods of solution production and assembly.
Work with the deployment team to ensure that a robust supply chain can be developed for the design.
Ownership of the bill of materials for this sub-system.

Work related competence:
At least five years' mechanical design engineering experience in a relevant industry, such as automotive or other volume, large scale manufacturing industries.
Track record of delivering mechanical designs for novel systems, with a particular focus on design for cost, manufacture and assembly.
Strong competency in CAD software (ideally SolidWorks).
