Job description


Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Lead Safety Methods and Performance Engineer, based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities:
* Lead and support operational teams to prepare and deliver critical HSE procedures and dossiers to ensure the safe management of drilling and well operations and emergency response preparedness, including Bridging Documents, SIMOPS, Blow-Out Contingency Plans. Represent SMP team during SIMOPS offshore visits, and share best practices with other assets where relevant. Prepare and co-ordinate emergency response exercises, recording lessons learned and future recommendations. Manage D&W team emergency preparedness room set-up and data requirements.
* Lead the D&W team Sustainability efforts. Prepare the annual D&W Emissions budget, ensuring clarity and consistency in approach across all stakeholders. Work with the company Environmental team and the D&W team to ensure all targets are well understood and monitored, and budget deviations can we well explained. Prepare and manage the D&W team Sustainabilty Roadmap.
* Influence and monitor D&W team process safety and major risk management activities. Prepare Technological Risk Assessments, focused on preventing major accident hazards associated with critical operations. Ensure company D&W Returns on Experience regards well control events, and other major HSE and/or NPT incidents, are shared with the team and lessons considered for company application. Support the company D&W teams to undertake Root Cause Analysis for such events, and support investigations as needed. Oversee activities relating to the company D&W Definitive Survey database (Wellmap), to support avoidance of Anti-Collision risk/events.
* Monitor progress against agreed HSE and safety audit plans, providing regular feedback and support. Support D&W team HSE initiatives, designed and implemented to improve safety performance.
* Update D&W teams on changes to company rules and company procedures, managing local CMS to ensure most recent D&W documents are always available. Provide advice and support on their application and compliance and/or derogation requirements. Maintain close relationship with the HQ Referencial team along with an oversight of company derogations status, highlighting renewal requirements to teams, opportunities to standardize, and advice to teams to ensure high quality submissions.
* As company D&W Performance Champion, lead the implementation of CR EP FP 431 requirements, including but not limited to preparation and facilitation of D&W performance meetings and workshops; continual development and maintenance of performance registers and lists/tools to track KPIs (internal and service company), and other performance metrics. Drive standardisation and best practice across the various D&W teams and support offshore in their performance improvement quests, spending time offshore supporting the teams and facilitating the sharing of best practices.
* Lead the design and development of tools that provide operational teams with quality performance data to benchmark, analyse and monitor their performance. Lead teams to use the data to identify opportunities to improve. Liaise regularly with HQ to understand what digital tools/modules are coming through the pipeline, and be focal point for support (DRILLX, Cockpit etc).
* Oversee the management of the company Wellview database (with Technical Assistant) providing day to day user support and monitoring/improving data quality used for PMMR, department use, asset use and HQ reports. Ensure necessary and high quality data is available in Wellview to support dashboards and regulatory reporting.
* Lead company D&W performance related subjects including CPI performance analysis, Rushmore submissions. Own the 3C process in D&W, providing tools and support to the teams, to ensure high focus on cost reduction and tracking of all D&W savings and efficiencies.
* Key participant in driving company D&W Continuous Improvement and Visual Management culture, demonstrating proactive improvements to day-to-day tasks and department processes.


Experience & Qualifications:
* BSc/MSc or equivalent in an appropriate engineering discipline with at least 5-10 year experience in D&W engineering and operations.
* Keen interest in HSE topics pertinent to D&W operations.
* Creative individual with an enthusiasm for digital applications who can drive change and improvements in how we work.
