Job description

We have a current opportunity for a HMI SCADA Engineer on a contract basis. The position will be based in Limerick.

In this role, you'll be designing and developing HMI and SCADA systems that empower operators and optimize industrial processes.

Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Design and Develop: Imagine crafting the user interface (HMI) that plant operators rely on to monitor and control critical systems. You'll utilize cutting-edge SCADA software to ensure efficient data acquisition and seamless operation.
  • Integration Master: You'll be the mastermind behind ensuring flawless communication between HMI/SCADA systems and other control systems, guaranteeing smooth data exchange.
  • Troubleshooting Detective: A keen eye for detail is essential! You'll be responsible for conducting system testing and resolving any glitches or bugs that may arise.
  • Knowledge Share: Your expertise is valuable! You'll create and maintain clear documentation and provide technical support and training to colleagues.
  • Stay Ahead of the Curve: The world of automation is constantly evolving. You'll be responsible for staying current on the latest industry trends and advancements in HMI/SCADA technologies.

To be successful, you'll possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a relevant field.
  • Proven experience designing, implementing, and maintaining HMI and SCADA systems.
  • Mastery of industry-leading HMI/SCADA software (e.g., Aveva InTouch, Wonderware, FactoryTalk View).
  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in HMI/SCADA (e.g., C#, Java, VBScript) with additional knowledge of SQL.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Server operating systems.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (OPC, Suitelink) and networking concepts.
  • A keen awareness of cybersecurity principles for securing SCADA systems.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and collaborate seamlessly with teams and clients.
  • A knack for independent work and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A continuous learning mindset to embrace new technologies and platforms in the HMI/SCADA field.
