Job description

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Health and Safety Advisor, based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities:
* Provides interpretation, direction and technical health & safety guidance on related legislation.
* Acts as the health & safety focal point for assets and projects teams, ensuring documentation is fit for purpose, implemented and effective.
* Acts as a regulatory focal point, facilitates asset and onshore HSE and BEIS inspection activities, develops response letters for any findings and supports the timely closure of actions. Also ensures the correct reporting of any regulatory breach.
* Supports the delivery of asset audit, assurance & HES plan. Conducts or facilitates audits and compliance monitoring and supports the development and effective implementation of SMART actions.
* Facilitates incident investigations in conjunction with the investigation team leader, to deliver effective: investigation; root cause identification; action development and lessons learned.
* Assists the HES team to deliver company wide health & safety initiatives and projects required to achieve Incident Free Operations.
* Conducts regular site visits with focus on compliance with procedures and permits, task knowledge and understanding of risk & the mitigations required.
* Analyses data and prepares reports for asset and leadership team review.

Experience & Qualifications:
* Professional occupational health and safety qualification (minimum NEBOSH Certificate working towards Diploma) or equivalent.
* Possess a proven knowledge of appropriate HSE legislation/standards.
* Proven competency providing support the offshore industry.
* Knowledge of process safety management.
* Experience of working closely with regulatory bodies.
* Capability to lead and perform management system audits against industry and company standards.
* Competency to lead investigations of significant accidents/incidents.
* Possess facilitation skills.
* Ability to execute and support wider HSE/Operations programmes and initiatives.
* Must have experience of developing and implementing HSE management systems and or procedures.
* Ability to identify and apply appropriate risk assessment techniques to situations/problems.
* Written and verbal communication skills, with good attention to detail.
* Required to carry out regular offshore visits.
* Trained Auditor (IRCA) and Trained Incident investigator.
