Job description

We are recruiting for a Head of Site Health, Safety & Wellbeing to support on the Sizewell C Project (SZC). Key responsibilities will be:

  • Lead and Innovate: Spearhead the development and implementation of world-class health, safety, and environmental strategies and processes on the SZC construction site. Your leadership will ensure that best practices are not only met but exceeded.

  • Ensure Compliance: Oversee adherence to the Nuclear Site License, Environmental Permits, planning conditions, and lease arrangements. Your vigilance will guarantee that all activities meet statutory regulations and company directives.

  • Collaborate and Coordinate: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including UK Government agencies, financial investors, and local communities, to ensure seamless compliance and operational efficiency.

  • Manage and Develop: Guide a team of HSE professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth. You will ensure that all team activities align with the project's environmental policy and safety objectives.

  • Drive Quality: Maintain high standards through an environmental management system that meets both company and external benchmarks. Your commitment to quality will uphold SZC's reputation for excellence.

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH Diploma or European equivalent

  • Chartered Member of IOSH

  • IEMA Certificate or similar

  • A background in health, safety, and environmental management within a large project environment

  • Proven experience in navigating complex regulatory landscapes and ensuring compliance

  • Strong ability to lead, develop, and inspire a team

  • Exceptional communication and coordination skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders

  • Excellent knowledge of CDM Regulations
