Facilities Management Assistant

Location - Perth

Duration - Temporary ongoing up to 12 months initially

Hours of work are 37 per week - 8.15am - 4.45pm Monday to Thursday (30 minute unpaid break) and 8.15am to 1.15pm on a Friday.

Rate of pay - £12.50 per hour

Our client currently has a requirement for a Facilities Management Assistant to carry out maintenance activities in and around their site in line with business requirements, ensuring it is in good working order and ensuring a safe environment for all staff, visitors and contractors.

This role would suit an individual with good practical skills; painting and decorating, woodwork and basic mechanical skills. You will be willing and able to pass on the job training for Counterbalance Forklift License and MEWP License - training provided by our client.

Your primary area of responsibility will be:

  • To carry out general maintenance activities in and around site in line with business requirements.
  • General janitorial duties
  • Cleaning of key safety equipment - fire extinguishers, fire exit signage and keep clear ways
  • Cleaning and painting of factory surfaces as required
  • Operate cleaning machines - ride on floor scrubber, hoover, leaf vacuum, etc
  • Emptying of skips, scrap bags, recycling bins, cardboard baling
  • Emptying of settlement tanks
  • Specific hygiene tasks including cleaning canteen fridges, first aid room, operate sanitising machine as required
  • Implement improvements with direction from Line Manager
