Job description

We have a current opportunity for a Demurrage Negotiator on a contract basis. The position will be based in Canary Wharf 2 days a week and 3 days from home.

We are thrilled to present an exceptional opportunity in a dynamic and stimulating environment as a Demurrage Negotiator for a major oil company. This 18-month contract position offers an exciting role with cradle to grave exposure to demurrage, providing a unique chance to make a significant impact. As the Demurrage Negotiator, you will be entrusted with the management of a diverse portfolio of demurrage claims and post-fixture expenses. This pivotal role involves handling the payment of freight, while expertly managing and negotiating demurrage and expense claims arising from contracts with owners, oil majors, and trading companies. Collaboration with the Trading & Shipping community will be key, as you provide insightful analytical information and guidance to the trading benches, enabling the reduction of demurrage risk and optimizing demurrage prevention. This strategic approach ultimately aims to maximize trading profits. Additionally, this role offers the flexibility of working just two days a week in the office, providing a healthy work-life balance. If you have a solid background in demurrage within the oil and gas industry, this is a remarkable opportunity to showcase your expertise and excel in a renowned organization.
