Job description
We have a current opportunity for a Cost Control Manager on a permanent basis. The position will be based in Surrey.
The Manager of Cost Control will be required too:
Ensuring competitiveness, successful project execution, productive internal and external interfaces, risk management, and talent management. Asset creation work involves developing, bidding, and implementing projects. Multi-faceted planning, decision-making, and communication accountabilities span the above factors.
Provide guidance and development of resources, system tools and work processes required to support the project management organization in the delivery of cross function and cross regional engineering and construction projects.
Develop, optimize and continually improve all aspects of project cost control to service a broad portfolio of projects ranging from highly standardized / small scale (assets values around $0.5MM - $3MM) through to complex and unique facilities with asset values in the order of $500MM and above.
To fulfill the requirements of the position the incumbent must develop collaborative working relationships with team members, alongside strong business leadership with all internal functions. Developing client relationships when required to deliver a professional project controls capability to meet our customer's needs.
This will be achieved by:
Further developing an industry leading regional project cost control team capable of supporting internal /external customer projects including EPCs, both within the office and at construction sites.
Ensure compliance with global work processes and cost control IT systems to provide reliable and consistent cost control and reporting to ensure that we can meet the project, regional/ global project portfolio and business requirements.
Collaborate with the Product Line and Project Execution teams to develop and deliver competitive cost control strategies, project estimates and budgets reliable project cost forecasts, including financing and hedging support, aligned to the execution scope and strategy during the bid phase through award and execution
Develop and maintain Project Structure including Intercompany Contracts for engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning to ensure credible cost control and reporting throughout the project execution phase.
Develop and maintain the capabilities of the regional team to ensure that we can support the business needs across the broad portfolio of offerings.
Drive close collaboration with and support across the other regional and global teams to ensure effective resource sharing, lessons learned, standard methodologies and the development of appropriate work processes and procedures across the global execution teams.
Your Profile;
Graduate level Engineer with significant project cost control experience.
Sound knowledge, and proven skills and competencies in application of project cost control principles, methodologies and tools, supporting all phases of project execution, especially around Project Cost Control, Forecasting and Reporting, within a large project oriented EPC or Owner Organization.
Must have a track record of delivering accurate cost information, reporting and guidance to senior management.
Previous SAP and Ecosys PMIS experience strongly preferred, especially around SAP Project Systems module.
Experience within an Oil & Gas, Chemical processing or related business and equivalent projects a further benefit.
