Business Development Manager - Renewable Energy

My client is a young, high-growth, highly ambitious energy company. The company has recently created a renewable energy department to develop and invest in large scale renewable energy projects and become Africa's leading renewable IPP.

They are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to support the development, acquisition and financing of greenfield wind, solar, hydroelectric and green hydrogen projects across Africa. The Business Development Associate will report to the head of the renewable energy division and work in close cooperation with teams based in London and Africa.

The Role:
* Manage development of greenfield projects: commercial contracts, economic analysis, land rights, permits, environmental studies, technical studies.
* Work closely with development banks to deliver project financing.
* Identification of third party projects in development for acquisition.
* Assisting in preparing government-organised project tenders.
* Financial modelling & optimisation of economics in cooperation with our engineering team.
* Participating in key stakeholder meetings with government, consultants and contractors.
* Negotiation and management of co-development agreements.

Required Experience/Skills:
* Degree in engineering, science, economics or similar; post graduate studies with a focus on renewable energies or project management will be an advantage.
* At least 7 years' experience in power or infrastructure development or financing.
* Experience working in frontier environments.
* Fluent English and French
* Able to travel throughout Africa & Europe.
