Description:
The Data Scientist provides analytical support to Scientific Communications and Medical Affairs & HEOR. This position will report to the Director RWE Analytics and provides exceptional opportunities for career development and growth in a cross-functional and cross-regional environment in the pharmaceutical industry.

Responsibilities:
1. Together with HEOR and Medical Affairs, suggest HEOR studies using healthcare/administrative databases to fill the evidence gaps identified by the team.
2. Develop or contribute to the development of study protocols, statistical analysis plans, study reports and manuscripts.
3. Develop or oversee the development of a programming plan for assigned retrospective database studies.
4. Independently develop data specifications and effectively communicate study requirements to programmers and supervise their work.
5. Develop and manage quality assurance plan for all retrospective database studies conducted in house by the HEOR team.
6. Work independently to lead and/or execute study plans and statistical analysis for assigned projects.
7. Present methodology and results to both scientific and lay audiences.
8. Develop or contribute to the development of standard operating procedures for the conduct, validation and archival of database programs and associated datasets.
9. Assume responsibility for management and installation of file updates for all data sources licensed by the department.

Qualifications:
* Demonstrated proficiency working with large healthcare claims and EMR data.
* Experienced with the design and application of advanced statistical methods to include propensity score matching and use of hierarchical models with longitudinal data.
* Ability to effectively summarize and report statistical findings at levels appropriate for both sophisticated scientific committees and lay audiences.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and interact with a variety of stakeholders.
* Strong study design and statistical analysis skills with proficiency in one are more statistical applications (SAS/R/Python) is required.
* Ability to work well in a team as well as independently and be able to take a leadership role with regard to methodological elements within a project.
* Excellent project management skills

Education and/or Experience:
* PhD preferred, minimum MSc in statistics/biostatistics, health economics, epidemiology.
* 0-2 years of experience conducting analysis with healthcare observational databases.
