You may think that renewable energy is a recent invention and has only just arrived in the US. According to www.cleanpower.org, America now has the capacity to power 48 million homes using clean energy. Over the next 10 years and that number will grow significantly. Texas alone, if it were a country, would be the fifth largest producer of wind energy in the world.
The US has announced approval for the Vineyard Wind project. This will contribute 800-Megawatts of power for the state of Massachusetts and create 3600 jobs in Massachusetts. The Vineyard wind Project, Park City Wind, will offer a similar returns for Connecticut, on receipt of necessary permits. Over the next 10 years and that number will grow significantly. If we look at Texas alone, if it were a country, it would be the fifth largest producer of wind energy in the world. Over the next 10 years with federal assistance that number will grow significantly. The US government recently signed a tax treaty to encourage clean energy development worth billions of dollars to the renewables industry and this trend is set to accelerate.Orion has a rich history of supporting renewable energy projects around the world. We find people have the transferable skills from other industry sectors, which make up a crucial pool of talent as America starts to build its first major offshore projects and looks for thousands of skilled workers to fill the skills gap. If you currently work in the offshore wind sector and are looking for your next assignment or you have transferable skills in HV work, Subsea foundation, fabrication or anything from the onshore wind sector we would love to talk to you. Reach out to Richard Kirwan and let’s see what we can do.
