Job description

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Production Engineer, based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities:
* This role is the focal point and primary communication route for the offshore operations team for all production related matters.
* Management of day-to-day field production operations, maximising production through optimisation of reservoir, wells and process plant performance
* Provide support to the operations management team through expert advice on plant and well performance to overcome problems and maximise production through characterising well problems, sources of downtime and production system capacity constraints.
* Integrate with the subsurface team to understand well and reservoir performance, and identify production enhancement opportunities
* Advise on optimum short to midterm production strategy, co-ordinating operational activities that may affect production targets to ensure production output is maximised within the limits of the offshore operation.
* Determine current and future well production potentials.
* Conduct daily well surveillance and analysis of production performance against potential
* Develop and ensure wells are operated in line with the requirements of the Well Operating Guidelines
* Ensure all aspects of work required on the wells is fully integrated with operational requirements and the Asset activity planning cycle, including data acquisition initiatives
* Provide input to production forecasting process.
* Analyse production potential of each element of the production system and monitor performance in order that maximum production capacity is always available.
* Management the Production Loss Reporting Process including review, quantification and categorization of daily loss events and issue of loss reports. Coordinate cross discipline Production Loss meeting.
* Facilitate RCAs to drive elimination of production losses.
* Maintain the Facility Production Health and Production Loss Reporting Dashboards.
* Responsible for Production Chemistry Management, including but not limited to:
* coordination of offshore process sampling and analysis
* review of analysis reports and identification of anomalies or concerns
* coordination of production chemistry studies as required
* optimisation of chemical injection rates and consumption
* provide input into chemical permitting process and monitoring of annual usage vs consent
* management of relevant vendors and contract performance
* Chair quarterly Well Integrity Meetings
* Participate in analysis of well integrity issues and design of well interventions.
* Deputise for line management as required

Experience & Qualifications:
* Proven strong communicator who is able to act as the key link between different disciplines within Subsurface, Production Optimisation, Drilling & Wells, Operations and onshore 3rd parties. Ability to integrate and assimilate data and information from these disciplines and make technical conclusions and proposals.
* Proven ability to work in a team environment dealing with people from various disciplines and backgrounds.
* Able to work independently with minimal supervision, using own initiative to solve problems and seek opportunities
* Familiar with the theory of halite deposition and the implementation of effective mitigation strategy
* Educated to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. chemical, process or petroleum engineering) with relevant petroleum engineering experience.
* The ability to apply the essential skills of Production and Petroleum Engineering and focus on delivering results.
* Detailed understanding of the entire production system from sand face to sales point, including operation of topsides production facilities equipment and the monitoring requirements.
* Basic appreciation of oilfield production chemistry
* The candidate should have demonstrable experience of working in a dynamic, operational environment with an operating oil & gas company and/or major service company
* A willingness to travel offshore; holds current Offshore Survival/ Medical Certificates
* Good safety awareness
* Skills in data visualisation and proficiency in relevant IT tools would be advantageous e.g. PowerBi
