Job description

Project Geophysical Surveys Lead/Supervisor
Location: Azerbaijan (office-based with periodic offshore/onshore site visits)
Duration: 6 months

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with Technical/GEO specialists to define the scope of work (SOW), supervise data acquisition campaigns, validate survey deliverables, and ensure alignment with design criteria.
  • Coordinate all geophysical surveys for the project, serving as the primary interface between project teams, contractors, and technical specialists.
  • Manage a team of geophysical supervisors and provide support throughout the tendering stage, project preparation, and execution phases.
  • Oversee site work, ensuring compliance with HSE regulations and company procedures, and promptly addressing any safety concerns.
  • Evaluate contractor performance, assess the adequacy of scope of work, and propose adjustments as necessary.
  • Liaise with UXO consultants, permitting specialists, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Prepare detailed supervision reports and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in managing geophysical and geotechnical surveys in the oil and gas sector.
  • Proven track record in contract management, including planning, cost estimation, and coordination with internal teams, contractors, and government authorities.
  • Strong focus on HSE performance management, with a demonstrated commitment to safety.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a client representative role, preferably with international clients.
  • Engineering diploma or equivalent qualification.

HSE Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate exemplary behavior in adherence to HSE rules and requirements.
  • Ensure implementation of HSE protocols within the assigned area of responsibility, promoting safety awareness at all levels.
  • Participate in external safety reviews with third-party stakeholders when necessary.
