Job description
Our client, a leading international operator, have a current opportunity for a Onshore Fabrication Construction Manager on a contract basis supporting a major LNG project. The position will be based in Milan, Italy.
Candidates must have the following qualifications/experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Major Oil and Gas project developments knowledge and experience, with Partner and Government reporting interfaces
- A robust project, construction, and engineering background.
- 10 years of experience in oil & gas activities especially in engineering, project, and constructions, including in the LNG industry and its various aspects (onshore plant, pipeline, jetties, and nearshore/offshore facilities).
Job holder is responsible for the offsite fabrication scope in remote locations, current budget value approximately $400 million. Direct subordinate positions: 8
Activities:
- Oversee and support the activities for the EPCC Contractors scope of prefabricated units (Piperack's, modules, etc.)
- Ensure safe project delivery, construction quality and compliance with schedule and cost targets
- Support the EPCC Contractors team assigned to subcontractor's modularization facility, ensuring delivery in compliance with all Project goals and targets, specifically, HSE, Quality and Schedule
- Maintain ongoing communication with the Milan Office, Afungi Site Construction Team, OSBL and ISBL Managers at Site
- Participate in the definition of the modularization contractual and the procurement management strategy
- Define personnel recruitment requirement, participate in selection of personnel and develop coaching as required
- Establish and manage a construction management team within prefabrication Subcontractor's facility
- Coordinate the interfaces between engineering, fabrication and construction activity relating to fabrication scopes
- Provide construction execution expertise and guidance as required to the project as a whole
- Provide regular contribution to the modularization project control and progress review (technical, schedule and costs) to optimize schedule and derisk project construction
- Maintain effective working relations with relevant contractors to ensure that company objectives are met
- Promote maximizing of local content within Project delivery expectations.
Context and environment
- Based in Milan for Engineering phase, but with frequent travel to Fabrication yard which are in remote locations
- Interface with all aspects of project, specifically; Engineering and Construction and operations
- Working often in remote locations and on mission from project offices
Accountabilities
- Delivery of all offsite fabrication scope associated with Onshore and ensure an effective transition to Construction team for installation at Site via EPCC Contractors
- Ensure a "plug and play" philosophy to save time on the overall schedule and derisk construction activity
