Orion has stolen a march on competitors after the company was named number one for oil and gas recruitment in the UK, reporting a £185m turnover in the sector alone.
Orion Group also ranked as the number one recruitment company in Scotland owing to an overall turnover figure of £247m, and was listed number 17 overall in the UK.
The annual league table by Recruitment International magazine - The Top 250 Report - sees companies from across the world contribute their performance figures during the period from January to December 2010.
Recognised as a valuable reference point, the Report acts as a guide to those working in key human resources, procurement and personnel roles, showcasing who is who in the recruitment sector.
Alan Savage, chairman of Orion Group said: “Over the past few years, people like myself working in the recruitment industry have had to adjust the way in which we do business. We have had to move with economical and environmental shifts and complement the new green economies which are being heralded by governments in the UK and indeed across the world.
“Fortunately for us we envisioned these changes well ahead of time which is why we’ve been so successful in oil and gas recruitment. As the focus on energy continues to grow with Scotland and the rest of the UK working hard to meet ambitious renewable energy targets, it’s up to company’s like Orion Group to provide the right people for the job.
“Experience has shown me that success breeds success. And by that I mean companies that are performing well want to do business with other successful organisations.
“Our listing in The Top 250 report proves that we have gone from strength to strength in recent years – a fact which I am extremely proud of and we will continue to strive to stand head and shoulders above our competitors.”
