Senior Structural Designer

We have a new opportunity for a Senior Structural Designer in UAE. The position will be based in Dubai for yearly renewable contract.

Job Title: Senior Structural Designer

Business/Department: Engineering

Reporting To: Lead Structural Designer

Job Purpose

The Senior Structural Designer will support the Lead Structural Designer within the department, to implement engineering projects and day-to-day operational support requirements to meet project, maintenance, and Production Team schedules.

Key Result Areas (Key Accountabilities)

1. Develop detailed engineering deliverables for all in-house brownfield and greenfield projects.
2. Serve as a mentor to less experienced design and engineering personnel within the discipline.
3. Attend project meetings and discussions, recognize, and communicate scope changes promptly to responsible Discipline Engineers.
4. Assist Construction and Operation personnel in drawing retrieval, design interpretation, and drawing queries.
5. Travel to offshore/onshore plants for survey data and dimensional checks.
6. Interpret vendor documentation and data to incorporate into design packages.
7. Responsible for following procedures on drawing drafting, issuing, filing, and as-building.
8. Produce 3D AutoCAD models.

Internal Contacts: Lead Structural Designers, Lead Structural Engineers, Discipline Lead Designers, Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Offshore Construction Team.

External Contacts: 3rd Party Contractors

Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Job Related Competencies

Educational Qualifications:

• Diploma/Certificate in Engineering or Equivalent.

Experience Profile: Senior Structural Designer

• Strong design/engineering experience in Oil and Gas Industry.

Competencies/Skills/Others:

• Strong knowledge in Structural design and drafting deliverable creation.
• Ability to check completed designs and drawings for accuracy and conformity.
• Competent to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficient in 2D & 3D AutoCAD Software.
• Good written and verbal communication in English.
• Effective working within a multi-cultural team
