Job description

Our client is currently seeking an experienced Quality & Technical Manager to join their project team on a 12-month contract, based just outside of Inverness.

As Quality & Technical Manager, you will be part of the site management team responsible for ensuring the project deliverables are carried out to a professional level, on time and to budget, whilst maintaining high standards of Health and Safety and quality.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Review and implementation of PQP and Work Methods

  • Plan and propose operational schedules for resources and equipment and review the resources requirements

  • Monitoring project for schedule, quality and take necessary proactive corrective steps

  • Supervision of design and drawings management

  • Identifying, nurturing, and reporting on best practices.

  • Development and support of Site Engineering and Supervisors

  • Ensuring that all personnel are familiar with and have access to the quality policy, procedures and RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statement) pertinent to their duties

  • Ensuring that the KPI's set are integrated into working practices and reporting structures

  • Ensuring all over-arching quality policy documents and related quality documentation are up-to-date and reviewed annually, or when there is significant change

  • Verifying that approved procedures are adopted, and that non-conformances are reported and actioned

  • Liaising with Project Managers, Supervisors, Planners, Subcontractors and Surveyors

  • Other activities as requested by the Project Manager and Project Director

  • Know and work in accordance with the company values

Skills and experience

  • Knowledge of piling/geotechnical works is highly desirable

  • Experience in implementing and managing quality management systems

  • Experience leading teams, managing projects, and overseeing operations to achieve organisational goals efficiently and effectively

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Persistence and determination

  • Ability to lead and adapt to change, whilst minimising disruption to operations

  • Flexible work approach and the ability to organise your time and workload
