Job Title: Instrument Commissioning Technician

Location: UAE

Department: Onshore Operations

Reporting To: Commissioning Supervisor

Job Purpose: The Instrument Commissioning Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless commissioning of instrument equipment, verifying its proper installation, functionality, and performance. This position is crucial for ensuring project specifications and industry standards are met, contributing to a smooth, safe, and timely commissioning process while minimizing downtime and ensuring operational readiness.

Key Result Areas (Key Accountabilities):

  • Conduct mechanical completion line walks of instrument and process systems, compiling punch lists as per project specifications.
  • Execute line walks and implement instrument isolations as directed.
  • Demonstrate understanding of pressure, level, actuated valve, control, and Fire & Gas testing requirements.
  • Inspect instrument equipment according to project specifications and complete associated Inspection Test Report paperwork.
  • Manage System Handover Management Process commissioning check sheet completion.
  • Generate instrument and control documents in adherence to project procedure.
  • Uphold the project's safety commitments.
  • Complete assigned work scope within defined project schedule, ensuring engineering design standards are met and equipment operability is demonstrated satisfactorily.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Job Related Competencies:

Educational Qualifications: Minimum requirement of Engineering Diploma in Instruments.

Experience Profile:

  • Strong instrument experience with specific experience in commissioning.
  • Proficiency in Commissioning processes including pressure, level, actuated valve, control, and Fire & Gas testing.
  • Familiarity with Control of Work/ Permit to Work (PTW) processes and commissioning of utility and process systems.
  • Competencies/Skills/Others:
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate project status and major issues effectively.
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
    • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office.
    • Proactive communicator capable of providing effective solutions to client issues at short notice.
