Job description

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Electrical Engineer, based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities:
* Compliance with the Electricity at Work Regulations. Represent company during regulatory inspections and provide responses to questions and inspection findings.
* Ensure electrical equipment is managed and maintained effectively with no instances of non­compliance to company or statutory requirements Responsible for maintenance & equipment rationalisation, improvements/ savings relating to existing electrical equipment and technical support to the decommissioning project team.
* Ensure engineering changes are delivered in accordance with Statutory Regulations, Health, Safety & Environmental practices.
* Responsible for site Cat 1 documents.
* Prioritise repairs and inspections as required. Be aware of the status & condition of equipment and understand any associated risks.
* Review maintenance deferrals for planned and corrective maintenance work.
* Ensure familiarity with company Assurance and Verification requirements.
* Undertake a variety of audit and monitoring functions to establish that safe and best practice is implemented in the work assigned under the control of work system.
* Review and input into Operational Risk Assessments.
* Input into Management of Change process and that changes to the design and maintenance of equipment are appropriately documented. Occasionally manage minor modifications.
* Carry out engineering studies, and root cause investigations where required in support of delivering to an agenda of continuous improvement.
* Liaise with manufacturers on aspects of equipment trouble shooting and problem solving.
* Support the development and implementation of improved operational, maintenance and reliability strategies to ensure safe and reliable operation.
* Support the implementation of obsolescence related maintenance and integrity improvements.
* Support equipment reliability and availability reviews.
* Provide reviews into critical and operational spares with the aim of ensuring critical spares are always available.
* Develop SORs, review decommissioning work packs, decommissioning work programmes and technical proposals provided by 3rd parties in support of electrical work execution.
* Support the decommissioning programmes and the implementation of safe electrical procedures and practices

Experience & Qualifications:
* Delivering Engineering, Integrity Management & Maintenance Technical Support to offshore operating assets.
* Strong Safety/Environmental awareness - understanding of legislative requirements.
* Experience in the creation of Scopes of Work for vendor and offshore/terminal work.
* Experience of modification/project 'close-out' processes, FATs & SATS.
* Technical knowledge of power generation, transformers & switchgear with an understanding of maintenance strategies for mechanical equipment.
* Responsible for development and management of the asset electrical budget
* Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (MAXIMO).
* Accident / Incident investigation.
* Electrical engineering Masters or Bachelor's degree, though suitable experience may be considered to be equivalent.
