Operations Technician (Operations, Maintenance & Facilities)

About the Role


On behalf of our Client, we are looking for a practical, reliable and safety-conscious Operations Technician.

This is a varied, hands-on role supporting the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the site, ensuring facilities remain safe, functional and well maintained.

Working as part of the Operations, Maintenance & Facilities team, you'll undertake a wide range of tasks, from winter maintenance and general site upkeep to supporting operational activities and assisting contractors.

This is a role that requires someone who enjoys working as part of a team and is willing to take on a wide range of operational and maintenance tasks.

No two days are the same, and full in-house training will be provided where required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out operations, maintenance and facilities work as directed by the Operations, Maintenance & Facilities Lead.
  • Complete work orders safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Undertake winter maintenance activities, including gritting roads, paths and car parks.
  • Carry out general maintenance and handyman duties across the site.
  • Operate site vehicles and equipment where appropriately trained and authorised.
  • Support third-party contractors working on site, ensuring work is completed safely and in accordance with site requirements.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the facility.
  • Comply with all company Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and be willing to support a variety of operational tasks as business needs require.
Skills & Experience
  • Valid forklift licence and experience
  • A practical, hands-on approach with good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Flexible attitude with a willingness to undertake a wide variety of tasks
  • Strong commitment to safe working practices
Desirable
  • Banksman qualification or relevant experience
  • Experience operating tractors
  • Experience in operations, facilities or industrial site maintenance
  • General maintenance or handyman experience
  • Experience working within an industrial, engineering or manufacturing environment
