Shift Pattern: 4 days on / 4 days off; working 12-hour shifts (7am–7pm)

On behalf of our Client, we are seeking a motivated and reliable General Operative to join their team on a fixed-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic and supportive environment, gaining hands-on experience across facilities, quayside, and marine operations.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations, contributing to safe, efficient, and well-maintained facilities with the opportunity to undertake development and training toward relief coordination responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
Facilities Operations & Maintenance
- Report to the Facilities Operations Co-ordinator or Deputy Facilities Operations Manager whilst acting as Relief Facilities Operations Co-ordinator
- Monitor safe areas and assist with the coordination of facility users
- Support cruise operations, including passenger assistance, quayside logistics, and safety/security/environmental procedures and emergency response
- Prepare quaysides for vessel arrivals
- Assist with port facility maintenance tasks such as building painting, cleaning and general upkeep
- Support surface and infrastructure repair works (quaysides, roadways, pedestrian areas)
- Undertake manual handling tasks, including erecting and dismantling fencing and boundary structures.
- Drive company vehicles and operate plant and equipment
- Assist with core duties including vessel mooring and rig support
- Support supply operations including fresh water and fuel delivery to vessels
- Carry out winter and grounds maintenance including snow clearing, gritting, grass cutting and weeding.
- Provide operational support to the Facilities Operations Co-ordinator as required.
- Participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota and emergency response as required
- Assist with marine crew operations, including deckhand duties on the pilot vessels
- Participate in regular safety-related and statutory training
- Undertake additional tasks as required to support business needs
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Willingness to learn, develop skills and take on additional responsibilities
- Previous experience in a similar operational role preferred
- Valid ENG1 or ML5 Medical (desirable)
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
