Orion Partner Plus has been retained to search for a Senior Environmental Project Manager on behalf of a very well respected and growing environmental consulting firm in Greenville, South Carolina. This is an exciting opportunity to join an organization dedicated to delivering innovative solutions that help industries, communities, and public sector clients meet their environmental and sustainability goals.

As Senior Environmental Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading complex projects, managing client relationships, and driving business development across key markets. You’ll guide technical teams on a variety of environmental projects—including assessments, subsurface investigations, remediation, permitting, and compliance—while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. This is a high-impact leadership role where you’ll collaborate with clients, regulators, and internal teams to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage environmental projects, including site assessments, remediation, permitting, and compliance activities.
  • Oversee project financials, budgets, proposals, and scopes of work.
  • Provide technical direction, quality assurance, and senior-level review of deliverables.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, while driving business development in target sectors.
  • Mentor and support junior staff through performance reviews, goal-setting, and professional development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, laboratories, and local/state/federal officials to ensure successful outcomes.
What We’re Looking For
  • 15+ years of experience in environmental consulting, with at least 10 years in project management.
  • Degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Professional license (P.E. or P.G. a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations (e.g., RCRA, CERCLA, CWA, Act 2).
  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects, budgets, deadlines, and technical teams.
  • Proven ability to win new business and manage client relationships effectively.
  • Established client network in real estate, oil & gas, mining, power, waste management, public sector, or manufacturing.
  • Groundwater modelling experience a plus.
  • Experience participating in professional and client development organizations
  • Familiarity with both technical and business development strategies in consulting environments.
